Astral Adapt 0.8.6
A smoother first five minutes.
Activate from anywhere
Until you activate, a clear ACTIVATE button sits at the top of the plug-in, and any locked control (presets, Generate, Refine, Adapt Input) opens the licence panel and tells you why, instead of doing nothing.
Clearer licence panel
It asks for the email you bought with and the key from your licence email, catches a mistyped key before sending it, explains refunds and limits with a contact address, and has a “Lost your key?” link that re-sends your licence.
A nudge to set your level
Right after you activate, Astral points you to Adapt Input: play for five seconds and it sets your guitar’s level for your rig.
Your tone is safe
If Astral can’t read anything in a prompt, it keeps the tone you have and suggests what to try, instead of switching to a generic tone.
Installers tell you what’s next
The Mac and Windows installers finish with three steps: restart your DAW, add Astral Adapt, enter your email and key.
Presets unchanged
Presets sound exactly as they did before.
A new name
Astral AI Adapt is now Astral Adapt. Same plug-in, new name. The installer replaces the old “Astral AI Adapt” copy, your existing projects open as before, and your licence stays activated. Your DAW shows the new name after its next plug-in scan.
Hundreds more guitarists, bands and songs
Name a player, a band or a song and get a tone in that spirit.
Guitar names shape your tone
“Les Paul”, “Strat”, “Tele”, “humbucker”, “single coil” lean the amp and cabinet toward that guitar. Refine understands them too: “more like a Strat”.
More styles understood
Metalcore, pop-punk, doom, sludge, shoegaze, ambient, worship, dream pop, lo-fi, psychedelic, country lead and chicken pickin’.
Says what you mean
“No distortion” gives a clean tone; “no distortion, lots of reverb” keeps the reverb. Everyday words that contain a gear name no longer change your gear, and common misspellings of famous names work.
Presets unchanged
Presets sound exactly as they did before.
Guitar names shape your tone
Mention the guitar you're after (“Les Paul”, “Strat”, “Tele”, “humbucker”, “single coil”) and the amp and cabinet lean toward it. Refine understands them too: “more like a Strat”.
Fewer misreadings
Everyday words that happen to contain a model name (“remember”, “chamber”, “forget the reverb”) no longer change the gear you get.
Clean means clean
Asking for a clean version of a famous high-gain tone now gives a clean tone.
Presets unchanged
Presets sound exactly as they did in 0.8.1.
Cab Studio
The speaker's cone-edge labels display correctly, the distance reads clean values (“13 cm”), and the distance rail's caption and scale are now visible.
Cleaner pedal panels
Knob labels and pedal artwork no longer overlap.
Licence panel
Its text is tidied.
No sound changes
Your tones, presets and saved projects sound exactly as they did in 0.8.0.
Adapt Input
A one-click, five-second input calibration with a clear green meter. It sets your guitar's level so every tone sits where it was designed, refuses takes that are only hum, and keeps full drive even on very quiet rigs.
A quieter rig
After Adapt Input, a noise guard closes the gate on your rig's own hiss and hum on high-gain tones.
Matched volume
Presets and generated tones now land at closely matched loudness, so switching tones no longer jumps in level.
Every preset re-voiced
On the new amp and pedal engine, with cleaner high-gain, richer fuzz, and clean tones without boom.
New sounds
An acoustic-guitar tone (“acoustic”, “unplugged”), and new pedal controls: Octave, Swell, Shimmer and Bloom, a controlled, amp-style feedback swell on held notes.
Cab Studio
Two microphones and a room-distance control.
Your saved songs sound the same
Projects and tone files from 0.7.x keep their sound.
